Recently I was having a conversation around the people we choose to invest our time in and how those people make us feel afterwards. Corona virus although terrible has given a lot of us time to reflect and reprioritise.

I’m a firm believer that certain people come into our lives at specific points to help us with our journey in that moment in time. But it doesn’t mean that they will always be in our lives or even that they should. I think it is important to take some time to reflect on what and who you put your energy in because your time is so precious. Time is something that you should use wisely as it is never coming back.

Invest in those  that lift your spirit and not in those who make you feel small and drained. I believe it is ok to take a step back, if it means putting yourself and your mental health first. So these days I take more of an active approach in thinking about how someone makes me feel, not all interactions will leave you feeling great dependent on the situation, but at least half the time I want to feel like my life has been enhanced in some way by that time investment.  I am at the stage of my life where I am prepared to demand more for myself.

I am surrounded by strong and fierce women with incredible entrepreneurial spirit. Who are at the stage in their lives when they are demanding more, demanding better and are willing to go out there and work hard to get it. These women are my TRIBE. These women encourage me everyday to strive for more by simply just being them.

Select your TRIBE wisely, select people who choose to build you up rather than tear you down, choose people who motivate you  to continue to grow into a better version of yourself. But most importantly be willing to take a chance and put yourself out there and back yourself and your TRIBE. Let’s choose to build each other up and not tear each down, because together we all rise.
